Peter Vickers Business Group Team

Peter Vickers, Director, BSc BEc FCA

Peter studied at the University of Sydney and enjoyed university life so much that he completed two degrees. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, the Corporate Directors Association, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) of the Tax Institute. Peter is an authorised representative under the Corporations Act and is licensed to give investment advice. He is a registered tax agent, a registered company auditor, a registered SMSF auditor,  an external examiner for the Law Society of NSW and a Justice of the Peace.
Peter has won various battles over the years against the Australian Taxation Office and Travel Compensation Fund. He even convinced the Australian Securities and Investments Commission that Singapore does not have a separate capital city.
Peter has three daughters and five grandchildren and is a keen skier and accomplished sculptor. He was on the Board of Management of his daughters’ school, Masada College for 10 years of which he served three years as honorary treasurer.

CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGERS

Marc Liew B.Bus, M.Tax, CPA, CA, Diploma in Financial Planning

Marc has a wealth of experience in both public practice and the commercial sector. He is invested in helping clients achieve their goals by going beyond tax compliance and passionately believes in educating them on what the numbers mean for their businesses. He is a qualified CA and CPA with a Master of Taxation from the University of Sydney, a registered tax agent, an External Examiner for the Law Society of New South Wales and an SMSF Auditor. He is also a certified Xero advisor. When time permits, Marc enjoys some meditation, exercise and spending time with his family.


Jenny Shi BBus
Jenny is a Registered Tax Agent, a Registered Auditor of Self Managed Super Funds and a Chartered Tax Advisor with a Bachelor in Business.    She has over 10 years of experience in public practice and 2 years overseas in banking.  Jenny’s special area of expertise is in Self Manged Super Funds.  She is currently working towards her CA qualifications and in any spare time that she has, enjoys skiing, riding and travel. Currently on maternity leave.

Aylin Karahangil  M Comm. Adv Dip. Accountancy Grad. Cert. Prof. Acc
Aylin is a Fellow Member of the Institution of Public Accountants and National Tax and Accountants’ Association. She is  a Registered Tax Agent.   She spent 10 years working as a tax consultant, before moving into Public Practice where over the last 6 years she has specialised in individual taxation, small businesses and Self-Managed Superfunds. When not at work, Aylin enjoys swimming, walking, reading and spending time with her family & friends. Providing accounting expertise from the Windsor office of Peter Vickers Business Group Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.


Rachel Ren, MBA, CA
Rachel is a CA and Registered Tax Agent who gained her MBA from Charles Sturt University and a postgraduate diploma in Professional Accounting from the University of Western Sydney.   Whilst working in public accounting she gained experience in insolvency and has worked with companies in a range of sectors.  Rachel continues to provide accounting services to clients across a range of industries from our offices in Lindfield. In her spare time, she loves swimming, practicing yoga and cooking.

 

Joanne Yoo M.Prof.Acct  CPA
Joanne is a qualified Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and Registered Tax Agent. She holds a Master of Professional Accounting degree at UNSW. Joanne has over ten years of experience in public practice dealing with a variety of industries. She has extensive experience in small business accounting, tax and GST issues for individuals and business. She is passionate about providing sound and high quality advice to her clients. Outside of work, she enjoys going to the beach, practicing yoga and being with family.

 

Shobhana Patel CA, BBA, M Prof Acc, DFP
Shobhana (pronounced Shobna) is a qualified Chartered  Accountant (CA) and Registered Tax Agent. She holds a Masters in Professional Accounting  and Bachelor of Business Administration. She has also completed her Diploma in Financial Planning. Shobhana is enjoying working in public practice and she has over 6 year of experience in public practice and dealing with variety of industries. She is providing taxation and accounting services in Windsor and the Hawkesbury. She enjoys playing badminton and swimming in her spare time.

 


ACCOUNTANTS


Debritu Rosenbaum Adv Dip Acc
Debritu is an Associate of the Institute of Public Accountants.  She was awarded an advanced diploma in Accounting from Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE in 2003. Debritu is a registered tax agent and specialises in the preparation of individual tax returns.

Stephen Freedman B.Ec BBA
Stephen studied for his B Ec at York University, Toronto and for his BBA at the University of Windsor,  Ontario. Stephen has many years experience in the accountancy profession, in a variety of roles, serving a diverse client base.  His clients at PVA benefit from this expertise in his preparation of financial statements and tax returns; provision of taxation advice; budgeting and cash flows; business valuations; buying and selling businesses; management accounting and tax planning. Stephen has experience in preparing both Canadian and United States tax returns.

Brian Bai, M.IntTax, B.Com (Prof Acc), CPA
Brian is a qualified Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) with a Master of International Taxation from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Commerce in Professional Accounting from Macquarie University. Prior to joining our accounting team, Brian gained over 3 years experience in public practice with one of the big 4 accounting firms overseas. As a tax professional, he provided tax & business compliance and advisory services to various corporate clients in a wide range of industries. Brian is currently working towards his CA qualifications and in spare time, he enjoys soccer, travelling, reading and spending time with his family.

Aarti Pathak, CPA
Before joining our accounting team, Aarti gained over 6 years experience through her roles in finance, taxation and accounting with both corporates and in public practice.  Aarti recently returned to work having taken time out to start a family and is enjoying helping individuals and businesses with their accounting.
In her spare time, Aarti enjoys spending time with her family, swimming and reading.

ACCOUNTING TEAM IN BANGALORE, INDIA

Due to the shortage of suitably experienced accountants in Australia, we have three dedicated Accountants working in our office in Bangalore.  They log on to our computer in Lindfield to prepare client accounts and tax returns and no records are kept in India.

Malleshwaran Meganathan MBA Finance, BCom, MCom
Malleshwaran has now completed his CA Intermediate from ICAI and holds his “Accounting Technician” Certificate.  In addition, he has recently been awarded his MBA Finance. Before joining BOSS, Malleshwaran had an accountancy position in which he gained valuable experience whilst working for a broad range of clients. At BOSS he uses this expertise in the preparation of tax returns and the finalisation of accounts for clients.  Malleshwaran is fond of cricket and Adam Gilchrist is his favourite player. He was married in 2006 and has a son named Mohit.

Pavithra Sidda Reddy, CA, IPA, BCom

Pavithra is a member of the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia. Prior to joining BOSS in 2011, she gained over 4 years experience in a management role in public practice performing audits for clients in a range of industries. Pavithra gained the highest score in Accountancy at college achieving a result of 95%. Clients appreciate her academic approach to their accounting issues and she enjoys using her skills to solve their problems. Pavithra is married and has a daughter named Sonakshi. She loves to travel, read fiction and play badminton.


Vijitha RachanKumar CA, BCom
Vijitha is qualified Chartered Accountant and started her accounting career at the age of 17. She has several years’ experience of working in public practice where she gained management experience, specialised in audits and enjoyed providing a professional service to her clients who appreciate her attention to detail. After 2 years working at Back Office Shared Services, she has now been transferred to look after the clients of Peter Vickers Chartered Accountants. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and playing with her daughter named Yahvi.

WORK FLOW MANAGER

Naomi Brandon BA DipFP
Naomi obtained her degree majoring in Textiles and Design & Technology at the Australian Catholic University. Before going on maternity leave Naomi managed a number of Lincraft stores taking each store to the top position in the chain. Naomi is authorised to give investment advice. After managing up to 30 staff in a store she believes managing 20 accountants is a breeze. Naomi has a daughter Kayla, and sons Jayden and Leo.  Available Monday to Wednesday.


CLIENT SERVICES


Linda Baxter
Linda has a client services role for which she is perfectly suited given her great organisational strengths, attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.  She gained much of her experience during 15 years working as either a Personal Assistant or Legal Secretary. In her last role with a top tier law firm in Sydney, she assisted in maximising the efficiency of the group from within the Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution team.  Linda has spent time working for KPMG in Ireland, a country which she very much enjoyed, and time in Israel before settling back into family life in Sydney.
Available Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.


Catherine Langham

Catherine’s main responsibility is to look after the corporate affairs of our clients including those concerned with ASIC compliance together with providing administrative support to our accountants. Her organisational strengths and understanding of client needs make her perfectly suited to this role in helping to ensure that our clients continue to receive the professional level of service to which they have become accustomed. Prior to working at Peter Vickers Business Group Catherine spent 4 years working in administration for an accounting firm in Parramatta where she gained an in-depth understanding of accounting administration and ASIC.  After taking a year off on maternity leave,  Catherine wanted to work closer to home so she could continue to spend as much time as possible with her daughter. PVA is perfect as it is within walking distance of her home and she enjoys working in the family friendly office environment. Available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.


INVESTMENT SERVICES

Heather Leung BBUS, DipFP, FINSIA
Heather graduated with a Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology, Sydney, has a post graduate certificate in applied finance and investments and also a Diploma in Financial Planning. She has had a decade of experience in the finance and funds management industry having worked in the corporate world among some of the big blue chip companies. She joined Peter Vickers Business Group as Senior Financial Analyst.  Heather has two sons, one of which goes to the local school. Heather is also a JP and is available Monday to Wednesday.

BOOKKEEPING SERVICES

Allen Yuan Bcom
Allen is an associate member of CPA, who gained his bachelor degree from Macquarie University. He spent over 4 years in commercial sector, with great experience of accounting practices in Motor Industry. Allen is currently working towards his CPA qualifications, and in his spare time, he enjoys riding, reading and swimming.


INSURANCE BROKERS

Simon Pilbeam Dip FS  ANZIIF (Snr. Assoc) CIP
Simon is the Manager of PVIB and has been in the Insurance industry for over 30 years. He holds a Diploma in Financial Services, is a Senior Associate of The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and a Certified Insurance Professional. Simon’s hands on personal approach and excellent negotiation skills ensure our clients of the best value products tailored individually to their needs. Simon can provide expert assistance in the placement of all general insurance products with all commercial lines of insurance his forte. He is also authorised to give advice on life insurance and investments.


Beverley McKenna
Bev is highly experienced in the insurance broking industry. She began working in the industry in 1980 after returning from 3 years of living in Europe. She took time out briefly in 1987 to spend some time with her 2 young children. Bev’s patience is a proven asset assuring our clients of timely personal service for even the most complex insurance requirements. Bev is RG146 compliant.

Roisin Medin
Roisin has a strong background in Insurance Broking with expertise in most lines of insurance including Domestic, Commercial, Trade Insurance, Liability, Professional Indemnity and Marine Insurance. Roisin, who is RG146 compliant, has devoted her career to the Insurance Industry and enjoys the challenge of broking the “hard to place” cover for our clients.  Available Monday -Wednesday

Anna Calvert
Having spent the last 10 years managing a Chiropractic Clinic and a real estate office in Sydney,  Anna has a real appreciation of customer service and a passion for building relationships with clients. Anna quickly achieved her Tier 1 RG146 Compliance whilst also studying for her Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing. Anna does all this whilst raising a young son, playing netball and recently achieving a National B Badge in Umpiring.  Her energy and focus is an asset to the team and will ensure our clients are given the best possible advice in finding the most appropriate insurance cover for their needs. Anna is currently on maternity leave.

 

Joanne Glase
Joanne has over 16 year experience in the Insurance Industry.  Earlier in her career she worked predominately in underwriting positions within Insurance companies.  After taking a break to raise her family, Joanne resumed her career in the Industry working for National and International Broking Organisations in claims & support roles. She is a Senior Associate of The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and RG146 Compliant. She is dedicated to serving her clients and enjoys the challenges of Broking.  Joanne is available Monday to Friday.

 

Mark Cameron
Mark is an Insurance Professional with more than 12 years’ experience gained throughout the Insurance sector. As a qualified Insurance Broker Mark has the skills and experience to assist you with seeking appropriate Insurance protection and products. His passion for new business and application of his technical insurance background, predominantly in product and underwriting positions, enables him to provide tailored insurance solutions.

HR Manager
Idana Katz BSocSci(SW), PGDip HR Management, Honours Psychology
Idana is a registered Social Worker and a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute. After practising as a Social Worker she moved into Human Resources and has over 11 years experience in this field. Having managed the HR Department of a large listed company, Idana took a sabbatical to have her first child and has returned to the workforce with the Peter Vickers Business Group in the capacity of HR Manager. Idana also assists clients of the PV Business Group in their HR issues. Available Tuesdays to Fridays


Compliance Officer
Sara Lanesman BSocSci PGDip HR Management
Sara has been with the Peter Vickers Business Group since 2009.  She joined the organisation as the “HowNow” Administrator and Corporate Compliance Officer. HowNow is a Document Management System which enables us to run a paperless office. Over the years Sara’s role within the group has evolved and in addition to the above, she is the friendly voice on the other end of the telephone when contacting clients regarding payments.  Sara also manages accounts receivable and accounts payable for the accounting side of the group.  Sara works on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.


Marketing Manager
Charlotte Prestifilippo MCIM
Charlotte has over 11 years of experience in Marketing and Communications working across a range of industries including IT, Healthcare, Media and for the last 7 years in Insurance & Financial Services. She has extensive skills and experience covering marketing strategy, brand management, corporate events, communications, graphic design, advertising, e-marketing, website management, print management, analytics and social media marketing. Charlotte is a Chartered Marketer with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) which means she is recognised as an experienced, qualified and up-to-date marketing professional who is committed to continually developing her knowledge and skills. Charlotte has a one year old son and two cats, she is an animal lover who enjoys baking, going for walks and spending time with family. She enjoys working at PVBG especially as it is a family friendly company and conveniently close to home. Charlotte is available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
