Covering the Incredible with James Cameron - Peter Vickers Insurance Brokers

On 26 March 2012, James Cameron, Explorer and Film-maker, in his submersible DEEPSEA CHALLENGER travelled to a depth of 35,756 feet (almost 11kms) to reach Challenger Deep – the deepest point on the planet at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. PVIB ensured that James Cameron’s record breaking solo dive was insured.
The attempt was part of DEEPSEA CHALLENGE, a joint scientific expedition by Cameron, National Geographic and Rolex to conduct deep-ocean research and exploration. For more information on the expedition, visit www.deepseachallenge.com
PVIB was involved from the concept/build phase and worked with the Project Managers and insurers to make sure that as the project developed, it was adequately insured at each and every stage.
Finding cover for the unusual can be difficult but at PVIB we rise to the challenge and were thrilled to be involved with this exciting and successful project.
